Two Medistaff Employees Banned from Leaving the Country over Hospital Data Deletion
Two executives of a doctors' community, where a post saying "delete hospital data" was uploaded in relation to the collective resignation of residents, have been banned from leaving the country.
The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 20th that it has imposed a travel ban on two Medistaff employees who were under investigation for evidence concealment.
Earlier, the police booked Medistaff administrator Mr. A and one employee on charges of evidence concealment. Medistaff is an online community used by doctors and medical students.
It is reported that the two shared messages suggesting that the server administrator account password should be changed before the police conducted a search and seizure of Medistaff.
On the 19th of last month, a post was uploaded on Medistaff instructing residents to delete electronic data related to their work before resigning.
The post included contents such as "Delete the handover sheet from the desktop and the department's shared folder before leaving" and "Some hospitals can recover deleted data, so arbitrarily changing it is best."

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul identified the author of the post as a doctor based in Seoul on the 7th and booked them on charges of obstruction of business. On the 23rd of last month, Medistaff was searched and seized.
