Hansangwon Inaugurated as the 25th President of Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Han Sang-won, chairman of Dasco, was elected as the 25th president of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on the 20th that it held an extraordinary general meeting with the participation of 80 regular members and 12 special members, and elected candidate Han, who received 52 votes, as president. Han's term will last until March 19, 2027. Kim Bo-gon, chairman of DK, who competed alongside him, received 39 votes and was defeated.
Chairman Han is from Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, graduated from Gwangju Commercial High School and Chosun University with a degree in Business Administration, and has served for more than 20 years for the development of the local economy since being elected as a member of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2003.
He currently serves as chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, vice chairman of the Jeonnam Regional Council of the National Unification Advisory Council, chairman of the Hongin Academy Foundation, and chairman of the Gwangju Regional Association of the Ministry of Justice’s Legal Love program.
In his inaugural speech, Chairman Han expressed his ambition, saying, "I will strive to achieve an industrial peace declaration through active exchange and communication with the two major labor unions, as promised during the election campaign, quickly resolve the issue of relocating the military airport through cooperation with related organizations, and attract future industries to the site so that young people in the region can gather in Gwangju with dreams and hopes, making it a dynamic city."

He also emphasized, "I will elevate the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry to a core policy organization for the regional economy, embrace manufacturing companies located in industrial complexes within the region, and do my best to ensure that the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry plays a leading role as a locomotive in revitalizing the regional economy."
