According to the city on the 20th, this year's cancer screening targets are those born in even-numbered years, and the screenings include stomach cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer depending on the target.
Designated medical institutions for cancer screening can be found on the National Health Insurance Service website.
The medical expense support project for cancer patients is divided into adults and children. Adult cancer patients who are medical aid recipients or low-income individuals eligible for reduced out-of-pocket expenses can receive up to 3 million KRW annually, regardless of whether the expenses are covered or not.
Among pediatric cancer patients, medical aid recipients are automatically selected, and those enrolled in health insurance undergo income and property investigations. If the criteria are met, they can receive up to 20 million KRW annually (30 million KRW for leukemia).
A public health center official said, “It is very important to detect and treat cancer early,” and added, “We hope this year's national cancer screening targets do not delay and get screened promptly.”
