Hyundai Rotem to Showcase Urban Rail and Hydrogen Capabilities in Taiwan

Hyundai Rotem will showcase its competitiveness in urban railway projects and future hydrogen energy technologies at the Taiwan Smart City Expo.
Hyundai Rotem announced on the 20th that it will participate in the '2024 Smart City Summit & Expo' held in Taipei and Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Hyundai Rotem will organize its exhibition focusing on urban railway projects in Taipei and future hydrogen projects in Kaohsiung.

View original imageIn Taipei, the company will introduce various railway vehicle projects including the Taipei electric trains won in 2022 and the Taiwan Railway Administration (TRA) suburban electric trains. Notably, the Taipei electric trains will feature virtual reality (VR) experience devices, allowing citizens to preview the interior and exterior of the trains before actual delivery. The Taoyuan Green Line unmanned light rail project, which will be supplied turnkey including vehicles and communication systems, will also be showcased, along with comprehensive railway solutions such as digital-based maintenance technologies using cloud and big data.
In Kaohsiung, Hyundai Rotem will promote its hydrogen mobility technologies including hydrogen electric trams, as well as its capabilities in the entire hydrogen infrastructure process from production to actual use. Alongside plans for hydrogen mobility development, models of hydrogen electric trams and hydrogen-powered vehicles will be exhibited to allow visitors to concretely experience Hyundai Rotem’s vision for hydrogen mobility. Additionally, a diorama model explaining the resource circulation process?from producing hydrogen using biogas as raw material to its practical use at charging stations?will be displayed.

A Hyundai Rotem official stated, "We have secured a business portfolio covering the entire urban railway sector including railway vehicles and systems," adding, "Through this expo, you will be able to confirm not only our competitiveness in urban railway projects but also our capabilities in future hydrogen energy technologies."
