Jang Deok-hyun, President of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, "Achieving Over 2 Trillion KRW in Automotive Electronics Sales Next Year"
51st Shareholders' Meeting
Emphasizing 'Jeonjang' as a Key Business Initiative
"We will increase next year's sales for automotive electronics to over 2 trillion won, with the sales proportion exceeding 20%."
Jang Deok-hyun, President of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, identified automotive electronics as the company's key focus business. He plans to transform the company into an automotive parts manufacturer in line with the growth of electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles.
After attending the 51st shareholders' meeting held on the 20th at EL Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, President Jang told reporters, "The sales proportion from automobiles was well below 10% three years ago," adding, "Last year it slightly exceeded 10%, and this year it is expected to be around 15%."

He said, "Over the past 2 to 3 years, we have strengthened our capabilities in automotive MLCCs, automotive power inductors, and automotive camera modules, significantly increasing sales," emphasizing, "Samsung Electro-Mechanics used to be a mobile and IT-focused company, but now we will become a key player in automotive parts."
The establishment of a production base for automotive camera modules is expected to be delayed beyond the original schedule. Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced last year that it had newly established a local subsidiary in Mexico in the second half and planned to build a new factory this year. President Jang said, "It seems difficult to establish the factory within this year," adding, "We need to assess whether the current supply chain can support camera modules suitable for the North American electric vehicle and autonomous vehicle market, so the exact timing will be decided according to the market."
Mass production of AI-use FC-BGA is scheduled to start in the second half of the year. President Jang said, "Since many companies are making AI semiconductors, we are in discussions with various customers," and added, "We will more than double AI-related sales annually through diversification of applications and customers."

Meanwhile, at this shareholders' meeting, agenda items including reports, approval of financial statements, appointment of inside directors, and appointment of outside directors to the audit committee were approved as originally proposed. Regarding director appointments, outside director Seung-il Jeong and inside director Jae-yeol Choi, Vice President and Head of the Component Business Division, were newly appointed. Director Yong-gyun Kim stepped down due to term expiration.
Dividends were decided at 1,150 won for common stock and 1,200 won for preferred stock, totaling 87 billion won.
On the day, President Jang also gave a presentation at the shareholders' meeting, revealing the company's management status and future vision. About 70 shareholders attended the meeting.
