Shin Ji-ae, who mainly competes in Japan, will make an appearance in the United States.
From the 21st (local time) for four days, she will participate in the Per Hills Seri Pak Championship held at Palos Verdes Golf Club (par 71, 6,447 yards) in Palos Verdes Estates, California. This tournament is hosted by the 'living legend' Seri Pak. The total prize money is 2 million dollars (about 2.67 billion won), with the winner's prize being 300,000 dollars.
Shin Ji-ae is aiming to compete in the Paris Olympics this August. Her current world ranking is 18th. To qualify for the Olympic stage, she needs to improve her world ranking. If she enters the top 15 in the world rankings, up to four players can participate. Korea's rankings are Ko Jin-young 6th, Kim Hyo-joo 9th, and Yang Hee-young 14th. The women's event will be held for four days from August 7th at Le Golf National near Paris, France.
Shin Ji-ae is serious about the Paris Olympics. She personally requested an invitation from Seri Pak for this tournament. Pak said, "I greet Shin Ji-ae every year. Since this tournament is held before the Asian season opens, she expressed her desire to participate," adding, "It seems the player herself has a strong will to compete in the Paris Olympics this year, so I invited her."
Last week, Shin Ji-ae finished 3rd at the JLPGA Tour V Point NEO Golf Tournament in Japan. She was only one stroke behind the winner Ai Suzuki (Japan). Although she narrowly missed her 65th professional win, she made a good start to the new season. Immediately after this tournament, she came to the United States and is currently focusing on adaptation training.

Besides Shin Ji-ae, Korea will field many of Seri Pak's juniors, known as the 'Seri Kids,' including Kim Hyo-joo, Jeon In-ji, and Park Hee-young. They are determined to deliver their first victory in the sixth LPGA Tour event of the year. Top-ranked players such as world No. 1 Lilia Vu, No. 2 Nelly Korda (both from the United States), and last year's winner and No. 4 ranking In-Ruoning (China) will also compete.
