Recruitment of Students for Hwaseong-si 'Social Economy Startup Academy'
Basic Introductory and Startup Courses, 25 Participants Each
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting students for the '2024 First Half Hwaseong City Social Economy Startup Academy' introductory and basic courses to spread awareness of social economy and values and to discover prospective social enterprise entrepreneurs.
The introductory course is aimed at general citizens interested in the social economy. Starting from the 15th of next month, it will cover ▲the history, background, and meaning of the social economy ▲the role of the social economy in realizing social values in daily life ▲excellent cases of social economy, among other topics.
The basic startup course, designed for citizens considering employment or startup in social economy enterprises, will be held from the 23rd of next month. In addition to theoretical education on systems, organizational types, and startup trends, special lectures by representatives of social economy enterprises from inside and outside the region will also be conducted.
The education will take place at Hwaseong Citizen University located in Bongdam-eup. Participation is open to Hwaseong citizens or workers and university students residing in Hwaseong. The number of recruits is limited to 25 people per course on a first-come, first-served basis. The application deadline is the 5th of next month for the introductory course and the 12th of next month for the basic startup course.
The city plans to recruit separately for an advanced course, which will provide training on establishing business models and writing business plans, through a future announcement.

Lee Young-hye, head of the Social Economy Division of Hwaseong City, said, "This academy will provide various information about the social economy tailored to each course's characteristics, along with vivid on-site stories from actual enterprise representatives."
