VT Announces Follow-up R&D Achievements of 'Lidleshot' Utilizing Microneedle Technology
VT announced on the 18th that it has achieved positive results in follow-up research and development of 'Riddle Shot,' which utilizes microneedle technology.
VT conducted joint research with the Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo and disclosed the progress at the 2nd MAP (Microneedle Array Patch) Workshop.
The MAP (Microneedle Array Patch) Workshop is an academic event attended by industry-academic researchers from Korea and Japan focused on recent research results and information exchange regarding efficient delivery systems for drugs and vaccines through microneedle technology, as well as applications such as biosensors. It was composed exclusively of Korean and Japanese researchers following the 7th International Microneedle Conference held in Seattle last May.
Professor Beomjun Kim, director of the Bioengineering Research Center at the University of Tokyo and host of this workshop, introduced the joint research conducted with VT over the past year during the final presentation session. He explained that by comparing and analyzing the newly developed biodegradable polymer structure with the existing 'Riddle Shot,' they are researching the delivery capability of the components and developing microcrystals that can deliver active ingredients more effectively with less pain than VT’s independently developed 'Cica Riddle.' The new product is expected to represent significant progress due to its higher stability and cost-effectiveness compared to existing products.
A VT representative stated, “We expect this research and development achievement to bring new innovations to the medical and beauty industries,” and added, “We plan to continue developing new technologies and products through ongoing collaboration with the University of Tokyo.”
