"Fire Hazard"... Hatz Electric Range Voluntary Recall of 45,495 Units
The National Institute of Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that, based on the fire accident information of Hatz electric ranges provided by the Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy, an investigation was conducted and it was confirmed that there is a continuous risk of fire occurrence. Therefore, Hatz will carry out a voluntary recall starting from the 14th.
The recall target includes 45,495 units of Hatz electric ranges (model name: IH-362DTL) manufactured from May 2018 to January 2022. If a container unsuitable for induction is used or if the product is turned on again shortly after being turned off, an overvoltage may occur in the induction control components, which can cause a fire.
Hatz plans to provide free replacements by changing the specifications of the capacitor built into the induction control printed circuit board (PCB) and applying a control program to improve the overvoltage issue.
