Radiation Emergency Plan and Resident Action Guidelines Training During Radiation Emergencies
Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (Head: So You-seop) conducted a 'Visiting Radiation Disaster Prevention Education' for the chiefs of Cheongnyang-eup on the 12th at the large conference room of Cheongnyang-eup Administrative Welfare Center in Ulju-gun.
On the 12th, Saewool Nuclear Power conducted radiation disaster prevention training for village chiefs at the Cheongnyang-eup Administrative Welfare Center.
View original imageThe 'Visiting Radiation Disaster Prevention Education' focuses on helping local residents understand nuclear power plants and providing information on how residents should act in the event of a radiation leak accident, aiming to alleviate vague anxieties about nuclear power plants.
Since its inception in 2017, the radiation disaster prevention education has been attended by 2,176 people up to last year. This year, the education is planned for about 400 people from 15 organizations, and it is being conducted together with Ulju-gun to listen to the community’s demands related to radiation emergencies.
Lee Jong-yeol, chairman of the Cheongnyang-eup Chiefs Council who attended the education, said, “Even though the nuclear power plant is operating, I did not know much about its safety until now,” and added, “Through the education, I learned that the nuclear power plant is safe, and it was very helpful in understanding nuclear power plants,” emphasizing the necessity of the education.

Saewool Nuclear Power plans to continuously conduct the 'Visiting Radiation Disaster Prevention Education' tailored to the local community and residents to promote the safety and excellence of the APR1400, establish a radiation emergency system, and enhance communication with local organizations and residents.
