Hangs Dangling as Shutter Rises
An absurd accident occurred at a supermarket in Cardiff, UK, where a woman’s clothes got caught in the store shutter, causing her to be lifted into the air.
On the 5th (local time), BBC and others reported that a video of a woman being lifted into the air by a store shutter has become a hot topic. In the video, Ann Hughes (72), a convenience store cleaner, was pulling a small cart and leaning in front of the store. Then, the store’s shutter began to slowly rise, and Ann’s coat got caught in the shutter, causing her to dangle in the air. Ann did not let go of the cart at the time, and she hung there for about 12 seconds.
The dangerous situation almost continued, but fortunately, with the help of an employee who came outside, Ann was safely brought down. It was reported that she was unharmed. The video of the incident spread on social media platforms such as TikTok and gained popularity. The video alone recorded over 1.9 million views on TikTok.
Ann said, “When I realized I was caught in the shutter, the store owner did not know I was shouting,” adding, “When the shutter was fully raised, I shouted the store owner’s name. Then the owner came out and rescued me.” She added, “I don’t know why I held onto the cart at that time.” Ann also joked, “I have to handle the fame I gained. I will always be wearing makeup.”
Netizens responded with various comments such as “She must have been surprised. But it’s a funny video,” “The most shocking video I’ve ever seen,” “Levitation video,” and “I hope she stays healthy.” The supermarket also left a comment saying, “Don’t worry, the prices at the supermarket will never go up.”
