With the launch of this service, Gmarket explained that small and medium sellers who had difficulties securing cold logistics centers can now conveniently use Smile Delivery. Previously, sellers had to use separate logistics centers for Smile Delivery products requiring cold storage, but by utilizing the Smile Delivery Cold Center, products can be stored and inventory managed at a specialized center optimized for refrigeration and freezing.
Products stored at the Smile Delivery Cold Center are subject to the same next-day delivery system as regular Smile Delivery products. Orders placed before 6 p.m. on weekdays are shipped the same day and delivered the next day. Additionally, Smile Delivery tags and filters are applied equally on both Gmarket and Auction pages, making it easier for purchasing customers to find these products compared to regular items.
Currently, Gmarket operates the cold center for frozen products and is onboarding products accordingly. In the second half of this year, the service plans to expand to refrigerated products as well. The goal is to double the variety of Smile Delivery cold products by the end of this year.
There is also a promotional event for the launch of the Smile Delivery Cold Service. Until the 31st of this month, all sellers consulting for entry into the Smile Delivery Cold Center will receive a Starbucks beverage coupon. Logistics service fees, including shipping, packaging materials, and handling fees, will be discounted by 10% per shipment until March 31st.
Applications for the Smile Delivery Cold Service and detailed event information can be accessed through Gmarket’s seller management site (ESM PLUS).
Lee Jae-seon, head of Gmarket’s Fulfillment Business Division, stated, "This service was launched to reduce the logistics burden for small and medium sellers handling refrigerated and frozen products," adding, "As the product assortment of Smile Delivery services diversifies, we expect an increase in shopping convenience for customers."
