Honam University Department of Tourism Management Signs Business Agreement with Local Governments and Public Institutions
The Department of Tourism Management at Honam University has been actively working on "nurturing glocal cultural tourism talents for regional settlement" by consecutively signing business agreements with the Jeonnam Tourism Foundation, Seo-gu Office and Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City, Gwangju Dong-gu Culture and Tourism Foundation, and Gwangsan-gu Office.
On the 26th, the Department of Tourism Management at Honam University signed a business agreement with the Jeonnam Tourism Foundation, followed by agreements on the 27th with Seo-gu Office and Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City, and Gwangju Dong-gu Culture and Tourism Foundation, and on the 28th with Gwangsan-gu Office, pledging to join forces with local governments and public institutions in Gwangju and Jeonnam to promote a sustainable tourism industry in the region.
Over the past three years, the Department of Tourism Management has operated curricula and extracurricular programs as a participating department in the tourism sector of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Innovation Platform autonomous project, aiming to cultivate talents who can lead the local tourism industry.

In particular, this year, to foster specialized talents in the field of regional cultural tourism, the department plans to jointly operate convergent cultural tourism curricula and extracurricular programs with partner institutions through industry-academia cooperation, contributing to the revitalization of cultural tourism-related organizations and companies in Gwangju and Jeonnam that can respond to the crisis of regional extinction.
