Jinju City Issues 13 Billion KRW Worth of Mobile Jinju Love Gift Certificates for Spring
7% Discount Sale Expected to Revitalize Local Economy
Jinju City in Gyeongnam will issue the second round of mobile Jinju Sarang Gift Certificates worth 13 billion KRW this year starting from March 1 to support small business owners and revitalize the local economy.
The mobile Jinju Sarang Gift Certificate can be purchased through the Zero Pay app with a 7% discount within a monthly limit of 200,000 KRW per person. The gift limit is 400,000 KRW per month, and the holding limit is 1,500,000 KRW.
In January, the city issued 11 billion KRW worth of Jinju Sarang Gift Certificates for the Lunar New Year. Of these, 10 billion KRW worth of mobile Jinju Sarang Gift Certificates were all sold out, while some of the 1 billion KRW worth of paper Jinju Sarang Gift Certificates remain available for purchase at Nonghyup Bank, Gyeongnam Bank, and Saemaeul Geumgo.
After the issuance in March, a total of 76 billion KRW worth of Jinju Sarang Gift Certificates will be issued this year: 13 billion KRW in May, 11 billion KRW in July, 12 billion KRW in September including 1 billion KRW in paper certificates, 10 billion KRW in October, and 6 billion KRW in December.
The Jinju Sarang Gift Certificate has no fees for affiliated merchants and offers discounts to consumers, leading to steady growth in the number of affiliated stores and demand for the certificates. Starting from about 1,000 paper-affiliated stores in 2019, the number has increased to about 4,000 paper-affiliated stores and 22,000 mobile-affiliated stores currently.
