Na Hoon-a Announces Final Concert: "Thank You!"
April 27 Opening of Nationwide Tour in Incheon
Singer Na Hoon-a, celebrating his 56th debut anniversary, hinted at retirement from the music industry by announcing plans for a 'final concert.'
On the 27th, Na Hoon-a hinted at retirement in a letter titled "Thank You!" saying, "I never imagined that putting down the microphone would require such courage," and added, "I want to follow the profound truth behind the simple saying, 'Leave while the applause is still ringing.'"
He continued, "Since I cannot share all the many stories accumulated in my heart over the years, I put all my sincerity, love, and gratitude into the final greeting, 'Thank You!'"
He also revealed, "The applause and cheers from those who cared for and supported me over the long years gave me more confidence, and those who hated, scolded, and criticized me, whether for reasons or not, became a switch to awaken humility and diligence in me, who was almost caught in arrogance and pride."
At the end of the letter, he added the phrase "While preparing for the final concert," emphasizing that this performance will be his last stage.
Na Hoon-a is known to have been born in 1950. His first recording was confirmed to be "Nae Sarang" (My Love) in 1968. He debuted with this song composed by Shim Hyung-seop and "Yaksokhaetdeon Gil" (The Promised Road), and has released hit songs such as "Musiro," "Galmuri," "Japcho," "Gohyangyeok," and "Gajimao," maintaining his status as a top singer for over 50 years.
During the 2020 Chuseok holiday, he once again proved his title as the "King of Song" through the non-face-to-face concert KBS 2TV "Daehanminguk Again Na Hoon-a." The song "Tess-hyung" from his new album "Na Hoon-a Nine Stories," released in August of the same year, struck all generations and became the biggest hit of that year. Since then, he has continued his activities through offline concerts.
