Korea Copyright Commission Operates 'Visiting Copyright Education and Experience Classes' for Youth
Targeting Over 10,000 Students from 350 Elementary, Middle, and High Schools Nationwide
The Korea Copyright Commission announced on the 26th that it will conduct 'Visiting Copyright Education and Copyright Experience Classes' to foster proper copyright awareness among youth.
Online registration begins on February 26, and schools wishing to receive copyright education can apply during the registration period. All costs are free of charge.
'Visiting Copyright Education' involves copyright experts visiting educational sites to conduct two-period special lectures. The education is tailored to the youth's level using learning activity sheets, copyright board games, character creation, and other materials on copyright topics that youth should know.
This year, the number of sessions will be expanded to 11,000 to provide education to more young people. Registration will close on a first-come, first-served basis according to the ratio of classes by region, and applications can also be made through KkumDream (Out-of-School Youth Support Center).
The Copyright Experience Classes allow teachers to directly conduct copyright lessons for their classes or club students. Teachers receive support such as various training, teaching materials and supplementary materials, and operational incentives to run copyright education focused on experiential activities for six or more periods. Selection is made considering the ratio of classes by region and the ratio of new to existing teachers. It is expected to be conducted for about 10,000 students in 350 elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide.
Applications for education can be made on the 'Visiting Education (Youth)' and 'Experience Classes' pages of the Copyright Education Portal and Copyright Learning Center. The application deadline for Visiting Copyright Education is March 6, and for Copyright Experience Classes is March 4.
