Daesang announced on the 26th that it will sponsor the '3.1 Run' held to support the descendants of independence activists in celebration of Samiljeol (March 1st Movement Day).
The 3.1 Run is a charity marathon organized since 2021 by the housing welfare nonprofit Korea Habitat and singer Sean under the campaign slogan "Daehan Saram Daehan Euro" ("Koreans for Korea"). It is an event where participants run 3.1 km to commemorate Samiljeol. Participants and sponsoring companies of the 3.1 Run reflect on the significance of March 1st and express gratitude and support for the independence activists and their descendants. This year, a record 3,100 people are expected to participate.

Through sponsoring the 3.1 Run, Daesang plans to provide participants with an opportunity to join in social interest and support for the descendants of independence activists. Additionally, all participants will be provided with Cheongjeongwon's 'Chueun Real Sweet Potato Chew' as a snack. The funds raised from individual participation fees and donations for the 3.1 Run will be fully used for improving the housing conditions of the descendants of independence activists.
Since 2020, the 3.1 Run, together with the '815 Run' held annually on Liberation Day, has raised over 3.9 billion KRW in funds. Through this, new homes have been dedicated to a total of 13 households of independence activists' descendants, and houses numbered 14 to 17 are currently under construction.
