Strengthening Cooperation for Establishing Prior Art Investigation and Target Level Verification System
The Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency announced on the 19th that it has signed a "Business Agreement to Strengthen IP Capabilities of Small and Medium Venture Businesses" with the Korea Intellectual Property Promotion Agency (KIPRO).
This business agreement mainly includes ▲support for patent investigation and analysis services for R&D projects of small and medium venture businesses ▲utilization and support of patent information databases for small and medium venture business R&D projects ▲joint planning and operation of patent capability enhancement education ▲consultation on intellectual property applications and joint research ▲and establishment of a close mutual cooperation system for the development of small and medium venture businesses and industries.

View original imageSo far, the Technology Information Promotion Agency has supported small and medium venture businesses participating in R&D projects in establishing intellectual property (IP) strategies through cooperation with the Korea Institute for Strategic Technology Advancement (KISTA) and the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA).
KIPRO, which signed this business agreement, is an IP specialized institution under the Korean Intellectual Property Office providing professional investigation, analysis, and evaluation services related to IP. It is expected that through the cooperative system centered on the Technology Information Promotion Agency, including KIPRO, KISTA, and KIPA, IP-related services necessary throughout the entire R&D project cycle of small and medium venture businesses can be expanded and supported.

Through this business agreement, the Technology Information Promotion Agency plans to prioritize the introduction of prior art investigation and a verification system for challenging goal levels in the selection process of the Small and Medium Business Technology Innovation Development Project this year by utilizing KIPRO’s IP expertise. Kim Young-shin, the President of the Technology Information Promotion Agency, said, “This business agreement is significant in solidifying the cooperative system with KIPRO to secure investment efficiency in small and medium venture business R&D projects and to strengthen challenging R&D,” adding, “Based on KIPRO’s experience and expertise in supporting patent information services, we hope this will be an opportunity for small and medium venture businesses to acquire domestic and international technological competitiveness.”
