4-Month Written Evaluation and On-Site Inspection
Assessment by 100 Professors, Lawyers, etc.
Final Results Confirmed in June
The official procedure to evaluate the management performance of 87 public enterprises and quasi-governmental institutions, including Incheon International Airport Corporation and the National Pension Service, for the past year has begun.
On the 16th, Kim Yoonsang, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, attended the '2024 Public Institution Management Evaluation Team Workshop' held at the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, where he presented appointment letters to the evaluation team leader and members and encouraged the commencement of the public institution management evaluation.
In his remarks, Vice Minister Kim emphasized that as public expectations for public institutions have risen, the importance of management evaluation is greater than ever. He urged the evaluation members to carry out their evaluation activities with high expertise and ethical awareness to ensure a fair and trustworthy management evaluation.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance recruited candidates through an online public call and academic society recommendations in December last year to form the evaluation team. After verifying expertise and ethics, 100 experts from various fields such as professors, accountants, and lawyers were selected.
At the workshop, basic training was provided on the evaluation schedule, evaluation methods, and key contents of last year's handbook, as well as education on the strengthened ethical regulations for evaluation members implemented in October last year.
