Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, Visits Traditional Market to Encourage Merchants Ahead of Seollal Holiday
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited traditional markets in the area from the morning of the 5th to extend New Year's greetings and words of encouragement to market merchants in celebration of the national representative holiday, Seollal.
On the morning of the same day, Mayor Park Gang-su and the responsible officials visited Mangwon Market to listen to the merchants' difficulties and purchased ritual items such as fruits and meat to contribute, even in a small way, to revitalizing the traditional market and promoting consumption.
Afterwards, Mayor Park Gang-su moved to World Cup Market, where he toured the market with Kim Hong-gyun, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and took time to encourage the merchants. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs purchased Korean agricultural and marine products worth 2.5 million won and delivered them to Mapo District.
Mayor Park Gang-su visited Ahyeon Market to promote local economic development and market revitalization by purchasing safe Korean food products.
The items delivered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and those purchased by Mayor Park Gang-su at Mangwon Market and Ahyeon Market were handed over to the Mapo Welfare Foundation to support neighbors in need within the community.
