The Korea Financial Investment Association's Financial Investment Education Institute announced on the 5th that it has launched an online course titled 'Prevention of Insincere Participation in IPO Bookbuilding' for institutions participating in demand forecasting for initial public offering (IPO) subscription and employees of lead managers.
The course was created with the public interest goal of enhancing the soundness of the IPO market by preventing violations such as insincere participation in demand forecasting, and is provided to employees in the related industry.
It introduces key contents of securities underwriting regulations and the participation requirements for institutional investors in demand forecasting. By systematically learning the types of insincere participation in demand forecasting and cases of sanctions, it is structured to be immediately applicable in practice.
Lee Bongheon, Director of the Self-Regulation Headquarters, expressed expectations that "it will significantly contribute to preventing repeated violations occurring during the IPO demand forecasting participation process."
