Gwangju Dong-gu, Pledge to Practice 'Integrity and Mutual Respect'
On the 1st, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it held a 'Pledge Ceremony for Practicing Integrity and Mutual Respect' in the main conference room of the district office to reaffirm the commitment of public officials as 'Trusted Dong-gu.'
This pledge ceremony was organized as a time for Dong-gu, the only district in Gwangju to achieve a second-grade integrity rating for five consecutive years, to strengthen its efforts to realize an 'Integrity Dong-gu' and to make a strong determination to achieve a first-grade rating based on its past accomplishments.
The event was attended by all employees, including District Mayor Im Taek, and proceeded in the order of ▲ signing the Integrity Pledge by the head of the institution ▲ integrity oath by all employees ▲ integrity and mutual respect practice oath led by department heads.
The 'Integrity Pledge by Executives' included commitments to comply with laws and principles as public officials, eradicate habitual corruption, and serve as a model for creating a fair and transparent public service culture to build a clean Dong-gu.
Following this, the 'Integrity Oath by All Employees' emphasized the importance of practicing integrity and fair administration, preventing corruption, and creating a trusted and honest Dong-gu for residents.
In the 'Integrity and Mutual Respect Oath Led by Department Heads,' department heads expressed their determination to take the lead in practicing the value of integrity and fostering an organizational culture of mutual respect with their team members.

A Dong-gu official stated, "The reason we have maintained a second-grade integrity rating for the past five years is due to the strong commitment of Dong-gu public officials to integrity and the encouragement from our residents," adding, "With today's integrity pledge as a turning point, we will make every effort to achieve a first-grade rating and create a cleaner and more transparent Dong-gu that residents can trust even more."
