1 Million Won Support for Birth of Third Child or More
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a signing ceremony for the "Raising Multiple Children Together" project on the 31st in the city hall reception room as part of efforts to increase the population.
The signing ceremony was attended by Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City; Jo Yujin, Head of the Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation; Jung Youngsik, Chairman of Beomhan Group; Lee Sangshin, Chairman of the Changwon City Public Officials Labor Union; and Kang Youngim, President of the Changwon City Women’s Association.
The "Raising Multiple Children Together" project is a newly launched initiative by Changwon City this year to reduce the economic burden on families with multiple children in having and raising children and to create a warm atmosphere of shared celebration.
Sponsors including companies, organizations, and individuals are being recruited to provide a birth congratulatory gift of 1 million KRW through the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation for the birth of a third child or more.
Mayor Hong said, “I am grateful that the local community has shown interest and participated to provide economic support for families with multiple children. We will continue to strive to widely expand the ‘Raising Multiple Children Together’ project and create a child-friendly environment.”
The Changwon citizens’ love-sharing "Raising Multiple Children Together" project aims to raise 200 million KRW and has collected about 90 million KRW since last December with participation from Gyeongnam Bank, Wooju Electric, Nonghyup, Beomhan, Changwon City Public Officials Labor Union, and Changwon City Women’s Association.
