Support for Residents' Convenience in Development Restriction Zones
72 Billion Won Invested This Year to Promote 13 Projects
Daejeon City will invest a total budget of 7.2 billion KRW (6.5 billion KRW in national funds) in support projects for residents in the development-restricted zones.
According to Daejeon City on the 31st, the support projects will be implemented comprehensively to enhance the convenience of residents inconvenienced by regulations on the designation of development-restricted zones, including living convenience projects, welfare promotion projects, living expense subsidy projects, and income increase projects.
This year, Daejeon City will promote 13 projects, including 5 living convenience projects, 2 welfare promotion projects, 2 environmental and cultural projects, 1 living park project, and 3 old house renovation projects.
Earlier, Daejeon City received an additional 1 billion KRW in national funds after the ‘Seo-gu Norubeol Red Cross Ecological Park Creation Project’ and the ‘Yuseong-gu Saedong Village Multipurpose Community Facility’ were selected as exemplary cases of resident support projects in development-restricted zones by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Choi Young-jun, head of the Urban Planning Division of Daejeon City, said, “We will encourage the autonomous districts to promptly execute their budgets and discover various projects to ensure that the resident support projects proceed without any setbacks.”
