Inhwa School was a private special school for hearing-impaired students located in Samgeo-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. The long novel "Dogani" by author Gong Ji-young was made into a film, which brought renewed attention to the sexual abuse of students by faculty members in 2005. The inadequate investigation of the incident at that time caused public outrage, and the school was eventually closed in 2012.
