They gathered 5 million won from union members and donated it to support the recovery of abused children.
Changwon City's donation relay, titled "Even if Scratched by Petals, Scars Remain," which started last year, is a project aimed at creating a culture of donation through local resource linkage and preventing re-abuse by restoring family functions. It embodies the aspiration of Changwon Special City, a child-friendly city, to achieve ZERO child abuse.
Through five meaningful donations so far, over 25 million won has been raised. Using these funds, the Changwon Child Protection Agency has conducted home visit psychological counseling and treatment, various experiential activities to strengthen family bonds, and family trips as part of family function restoration programs. These initiatives have led to high satisfaction among participants and contributed to preventing re-abuse.
Kim Jeong-hyun, chairman of the labor union, said, “As members of the local community, we will continue to take responsibility and strive to prevent child abuse. We hope this donation will be a small help to abused children.”
