Held Baegunsan Gorosoe Sap Shipment Ceremony

Gwangyang City in Jeonnam announced that on the 20th, it held the 2024 first shipment event of the ‘Cheonhye Nature Life Water Gwangyang Baegunsan Gorosoe Sap’ in Eochi-ri, Jinsang-myeon.

The shipment ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including Jeong In-hwa, mayor of Gwangyang, provincial and city council members, local agricultural cooperative heads, and Gorosoe sap harvesting farmers, marking the official start of the shipment of ‘Gwangyang Baegunsan Gorosoe Sap’.

The Gwangyang Baegunsan Gorosoe Sap, which will be shipped in earnest from the 20th of this month, will be harvested and sold until March 15, and can be purchased through the Gwangyang Baegunsan Gorosoe Mineral Water Agricultural Cooperative and agricultural cooperatives in each eup, myeon, and dong.

The prices of Gorosoe sap are as follows: 500㎖ (▲single bottle 2,800 KRW ▲10 bottles 27,000 KRW ▲18 bottles 47,000 KRW ▲30 bottles 70,000 KRW), 1.5L (▲single bottle 7,000 KRW ▲3 bottles 19,000 KRW ▲6 bottles 36,000 KRW ▲9 bottles 53,000 KRW ▲12 bottles 70,000 KRW), 4.5L (▲single bottle 19,000 KRW ▲2 bottles 36,000 KRW ▲4 bottles 70,000 KRW), with separate shipping fees for all products.

To meet the diverse demands of consumers, Gwangyang Baegunsan Gorosoe Sap offers packaging containers in 500㎖, 1.5L, and 4.5L sizes, and has made various efforts to secure consumer trust by inserting QR codes on the packaging and containers that include information such as the harvester and purification date.

Registered as the 16th geographical indication by the Korea Forest Service, the first nationwide in the sap sector, Gwangyang Baegunsan Gorosoe Sap was proven by a 2009 experiment by the National Institute of Forest Science to be rich in minerals and potassium, showing effects in improving osteoporosis.

Lee Kang-seong, head of the Forest Income Division, said, “We will strive to supply high-quality Gorosoe sap to consumers while preserving the forest ecological environment,” and added, “With the full-scale sale of Gorosoe sap, an increase in income for forestry workers is also expected.”
