Buan-gun Launches Full Support for New Income 'Cherry Cultivation Promotion'
Support for Seedlings, Tours, Lectures, and Consulting for Farms Participating in Buan-type Food Plan
Jeonbuk Buan-gun (Governor Kwon Ik-hyun) announced on the 22nd that it will actively support the cultivation of new income cherry farming to overcome the shortage of fruit trees at the Buan Local Food Direct Store.
According to the county, they will create a roadmap from supporting cherry sapling planting, consulting during the growth process, to sales and distribution, and are recruiting applicants for the first step, the cherry sapling support project, until the 24th.
The Buan Local Food new income 'Cherry' cultivation project is a program that supports 70% of the sapling purchase cost for food plan participating farms, based on a shipment agreement with Buan Local Food, aiming to increase the shipment volume of cherries suitable for the Buan area in response to recent climate change.
As a preliminary step for cherry cultivation, the county conducted three sessions of education and visits to leading farms for food plan production farms from last year until early this month. This sapling support project plans to provide one tree per 10 pyeong (33㎡) to applicants who completed the education and expressed demand during the food plan shipping farm survey.
From mid-March, when cherry saplings are planted, experts will be invited to provide on-site consulting and education on the entire growth process, including field management, pest and disease control, and fertilization management. Continuous support will be provided for high-quality cherry production through advanced farm visit education and more.
