Recruitment of New Members for Jongno-gu Royal Court Dance Troupe
Applications accepted via email by February 8 for residents aged 9 to under 65
Final successful candidates announced on February 27, selected participants will systematically learn Gungjung dance and perform on various stages
Jongno-gu (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) is recruiting new members for the 'Jongno-gu Palace Dance Troupe' to preserve and pass on palace dance.
Selected members will have the opportunity to systematically learn palace dance under the guidance of professional instructors. Additionally, they will participate in regular practice sessions to hone their skills and perform at various cultural events and stages.
The eligibility is Jongno-gu residents aged 9 to under 65 who are interested in palace dance. Preference will be given to those with awards in art competitions or those who have been trained in or completed traditional dance courses.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the form from the Jongno Cultural Foundation website, filling it out, and sending it via email to the person in charge by 5 PM on February 8.
Successful applicants for the document screening will be notified on February 15, and interviews and practical exams are scheduled for February 24.
A total of 20 members will be recruited this time, and Jongno-gu plans to announce the final successful candidates on February 27. For more details, please refer to the Jongno Cultural Foundation website or contact the Performing Arts Department.

A Jongno-gu official said, "Learning palace dance, which embodies the dignity of royal culture, and showcasing beautiful dance moves on stage will also contribute to the development of traditional cultural arts," adding, "We hope many interested individuals will apply."
