Busan Museum is promoting the public purchase of artifacts to collect academic and exhibition materials related to the history and culture of Busan.
The main purchase targets are ▲‘Goryeo and Joseon Dynasty ceramics’ with high historical and cultural value ▲‘Modern regional ceramics’. Other artifacts that align with the history and identity of Busan are also eligible for purchase.
However, illegally obtained cultural properties such as looted or stolen items, and artifacts with unclear ownership or provenance are excluded from purchase.
Individuals, cultural property dealers, corporations, or organizations wishing to sell artifacts can download the artifact sale application form and related documents from the museum’s website, fill them out, and submit them via email or registered mail (addressed to the Artifact Purchase Officer, Artifact Management Team, Busan Museum) between February 1 and 8.
The deadline for document submission is 6 p.m. on February 8, and for registered mail, the postmark date on the deadline day is valid.
After document screening, selected artifacts will be physically received for evaluation, followed by two rounds of assessment and review by the city’s Cultural Heritage Committee to decide on the purchase targets.
