On the 15th, their agency Big Hit Music announced that the music video for "Black Swan," a track from BTS's fourth studio album released in 2020, "MAP OF THE SOUL : 7," surpassed 500 million views on YouTube at around 7:59 a.m. that day. "Black Swan" became BTS's seventeenth music video to reach 500 million views.
"Black Swan" is a dreamy song that harmonizes trap drum beats, poignant lo-fi guitar melodies, and a catchy hook. The lyrics contain BTS's autobiographical message about realizing what music means to them.
Released as a pre-release track in January 2020 ahead of the full album, the song entered major international charts such as the US Billboard Hot 100 (at number 57) and the UK Official Singles Top 100 (at number 46). It also topped the iTunes "Top Song" charts in 93 countries and regions worldwide.
The "Black Swan" music video depicts the members transforming from white swans into black swans on stage. In particular, the barefoot performance by the seven members was praised for maximizing a lyrical and artistic sensibility.
