Jindo-gun Receives 'Excellence Award' in Eco-Friendly Agriculture Evaluation

High Scores Including Increased Eco-Friendly Certified Area... Securing 35 Million Won in Prize Funds

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do received the Excellence Award in the 2023 Eco-friendly Agriculture Awards hosted by Jeollanam-do.

According to the county on the 11th, this evaluation assessed the achievements over the past year in expanding the certified area of eco-friendly agricultural products, diversifying product categories, strengthening the foundation for eco-friendly agriculture, and promoting policies to revitalize eco-friendly agriculture.

The county implemented various projects including △promotion of eco-friendly agriculture policies △discovery of new eco-friendly agriculture projects △education to strengthen safety management of eco-friendly agricultural products △support for returning rice straw to eco-friendly cultivated fields △supply of eco-friendly agricultural products to school meals.

In particular, it received favorable evaluations in the areas of increased certified eco-friendly area and safety management of eco-friendly agricultural products, securing 35 million KRW in prize money.

A county official said, “This award is the result of our dedication to solidifying eco-friendly agriculture, such as strengthening safety management of eco-friendly agricultural products to increase consumer trust,” adding, “We will continue to spare no support for the sustainable development of eco-friendly agriculture.”

Meanwhile, Jindo-gun was selected for the eco-friendly agriculture infrastructure project (500 million KRW) and the eco-friendly fruit and vegetable specialized complex project (500 million KRW), planning to further accelerate eco-friendly agriculture initiatives in 2024.
