"9-Year-Old Daughter in Pain"... Three Family Members Found Dead in Taean
Police Investigating Suspected Suicide Attempt
Three members of a family were found dead in Taean, Chungnam, prompting the police to launch an investigation. Authorities suspect that the family members took their own lives.
According to reports from Yonhap News and other media outlets, at around 7:15 a.m. on the 9th, A (45), his wife B (38), and their 9-year-old daughter C were found dead in a residential area of Taean-gun.
The police responded to a report from A's mother that morning and discovered the deceased family inside a car parked in the house. It is known that the couple had been facing financial difficulties while treating their daughter, who suffers from juvenile diabetes, for several years. They had reportedly told those around them, "Our daughter is struggling, and it breaks our hearts. The financial difficulties are also significant."
The couple reportedly both worked while managing their daughter's treatment. They were also known to have been actively involved in community volunteer activities. The police plan to conduct a more detailed investigation into the circumstances of the incident through digital forensics on the couple’s mobile phones and interviews with neighbors and relatives.
