"Drink Coffee and Donate"... Starbucks 'Jongno R Branch' Converts to Profit-Sharing Store
8th Starbucks Community Store
300 KRW Earned Per Item to Support Youth Employment
Starbucks Korea announced on the 9th that it will convert the Jongno R branch into its 8th Community Store.
The Community Store is a profit-sharing type store where Starbucks Korea donates a portion of the store's revenue back to the local community, contributing 300 KRW to partner organizations for each product sold at the store.
Starbucks will operate the 8th Community Store as a store dedicated to revitalizing youth employment. To this end, the Jongno R branch in the Jongno area, which has many youth activities due to its proximity to academies and bookstores, was selected as the 8th Community Store.
Starbucks Korea plans to accumulate 300 KRW per product sold at the 8th Community Store to create an annual youth employment activation fund of 100 million KRW, which will be delivered to JA Korea, an organization that provides employment education.
Additionally, the employment education and barista recruitment linkage program, previously operated with JA Korea targeting youth, will be expanded to include junior college students and employment-vulnerable groups by region.
