The Netflix drama "Seongnan Saramdeul" (original title BEEF), directed by a Korean-American director and featuring a large cast of Korean-American actors, won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television.

"Seongnan Saramdeul" was announced as the winner of the Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television category at the 81st Golden Globe Awards held on the evening of the 7th (local time) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles (LA).
The lead actor of the drama, Korean-American Steven Yeun, also won the Best Actor award in the same category. Ally Wong, who played the female lead, received the Best Actress award in the same category, making a total of three major wins. This is the first time a Korean-American actor has won the Golden Globe for Best Actor.
Released on Netflix in April last year, the drama "Seongnan Saramdeul" is a black comedy about contractor Danny (Steven Yeun) chasing after the reckless driver and fleeing businesswoman Amy (Ally Wong). The two, entangled by a minor accident, unleash their pent-up anger from daily life, leading each other's lives to ruin.
Since its release, "Seongnan Saramdeul" ranked third in Netflix's global weekly viewing hours and received critical and public acclaim. Sweeping major Golden Globe categories, it is expected to make another splash at the Emmy Awards ceremony on the 15th. "Seongnan Saramdeul" is nominated in 13 categories across 11 fields, including Best Actor and Best Director at the Emmys.
