Nanobrick Applies 31.2-Inch TFT Panel to Electronic Paper eSkin
Available in Offices and Bus Stops
"Focused Attack on the Digital Signage Market"
Advanced nano new material specialist company Nanobrick announced on the 8th that it has succeeded in applying a 31.2-inch large-area thin-film transistor (TFT) panel using electronic paper E-Skin.
With this large-area TFT panel application, the company is expected to expand into the large digital signage (E-Signage) market used in various fields such as offices, retail, and bus stops, beyond small electronic shelf labels (ESL: Electronic Shelf Label).
Electronic paper is a reflective display that conveys information by controlling the position of nanoparticles, unlike OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display). It consumes almost no power and can be wirelessly operated without a separate power connection, making it an eco-friendly ultra-low power display emerging in the Net-Zero era.
Nanobrick’s independently developed E-Skin is an electronic paper that applies Nanobrick’s proprietary patented technology, unlike existing electronic paper methods. E-Skin allows color tone and pattern changes in specific colors desired by customers. Additionally, the company laid the foundation for mass production of large-area E-Skin by successfully developing a roll-to-roll film process last year.
A Nanobrick official said, "This successful application of a large-area TFT panel was possible because of the large-area film mass production line established last year, based on our unique technological competitiveness," adding, "We plan to focus on targeting the digital signage market, which requires emotional design elements and large areas, based on the competitiveness we have secured." He also added, "We will accelerate the launch of new products with variable transmittance for smart windows based on our success in large electronic paper."
