Former Gwangju Deputy Mayor Kim Kwang-jin: "We Will Follow the Path to Build Gwangju as a City of Opportunities"
Successful Publication Celebration Amid Crowd of Over 5,000 People
Former Gwangju Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor for Culture and Economy Kim Kwang-jin stated, "We will move toward another path for building a greater Gwangju, the city of opportunity."
On the afternoon of the 7th, former Deputy Mayor Kim held a book launch event for "Kim Kwang-jin's Guide to the City of Opportunity, Gwangju" at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center.
The book launch event was held successfully with the participation of over 5,000 citizens.
Hundreds of citizens sent videos supporting the author, and congratulatory speeches from local residents followed, making it a community-centered event.
In his book, former Deputy Mayor Kim Kwang-jin shared stories about his 12 years of political journey and political philosophy, while also presenting the path Gwangju should take moving forward.
Congratulatory messages were sent by former President Moon Jae-in, Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, and Democratic Party floor leader Hong Ik-pyo. Speeches were given by Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung and National Assembly member Kim Min-seok, followed by congratulatory videos from former Blue House Chief of Staff Noh Young-min, former National Intelligence Service Director Park Jie-won, former Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Chairperson Jeon Hyun-hee, and National Assembly members Woo Won-shik and Lee Byung-hoon.
In his congratulatory message, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "I support Deputy Mayor Kim Kwang-jin in realizing the shining future of Gwangju, which will be completed as an AI Convergence District and a national future car industrial complex."
Former Deputy Mayor Kim Kwang-jin expressed, "I am grateful to everyone who attended despite the cold weather. It was a meaningful occasion to contemplate the guide to the city of opportunity, Gwangju, together with Kim Kwang-jin," adding, "I intend to walk another path toward building a greater Gwangju, the city of opportunity."

The author, former Gwangju Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor for Culture and Economy Kim Kwang-jin, served as the youngest member of the 19th National Assembly, later worked as a political secretary and youth secretary in the Office of the President under the Moon Jae-in administration, and served as Deputy Mayor for Culture and Economy in Gwangju Metropolitan City for the past one year and six months.
