Changwon Special City and Changwon Chamber of Commerce Jointly Hold New Year's Meeting
Mayor Hong Nampyo: "2024 Will Mark a Great Page in History"
On the 5th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '2024 Changwon Special City New Year's Meeting' jointly with the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Convention Hall of Changwon Convention Center.
The New Year's meeting was successfully held with about 600 citizens from various fields including Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Choi Jaeho, the new chairman of the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, businesspeople, and the commercial sector.
After watching a video of New Year's wishes from nine citizens including parents, self-employed workers, seniors, and youth, the event continued with Mayor Hong's New Year's address, Chairman Choi's welcoming speech, Chairman Kim Igeun of the City Council's congratulatory remarks, New Year's greetings from key guests, celebratory performances, a New Year's performance, and a joint greeting.
In his New Year's address, Mayor Hong said, "This year will be a year to accelerate innovative growth based on stable city administration," adding, "Changwon National Industrial Complex 2.0 will be developed as a defense and nuclear power specialized complex, and the existing Changwon National Industrial Complex will establish a mid- to long-term master plan to initiate a major transformation for the next 50 years. Jungni and Bongam Industrial Complexes will be transformed into advanced industrial complexes to lead economic vitality."
He continued, "We will also do our best to create future-oriented urban spaces such as the construction of expressways and the maintenance of urban management plans, and establish attractive residential conditions for youth by expanding youth housing supply and introducing new support funds for newcomers."
