View original imageJeon Ji-yong, President of Kyungbok University, presented this year’s university development directions, including the completion of a hybrid campus, promotion of technology-based industry-academia cooperation, and establishment of policies to support international students.
At the ‘2024 Opening Ceremony’ held on the 3rd at the Namyangju Campus Udang Art Hall, attended by over 300 faculty and staff members, President Jeon emphasized three key development directions for Kyungbok University this year.
President Jeon first stated, "We will guarantee students’ right to learn and autonomy by completing the currently operated student-choice integrated curriculum and system," adding, "This will not only improve the satisfaction of education consumers but also enable the opening of courses regardless of semester divisions and enhance the quality of classes, thereby achieving the ‘completion of the HYBRID campus.’"
He continued, "We will promote technology-based industry-academia cooperation," promising, "We will seek cooperative measures with local governments and industries, and especially enhance the competitiveness of departments through industry-academia cooperation in the advanced new technology (6T) fields as declared by the Ministry of Education."
Furthermore, he urged, "As the number of international students increases, careful attention to internationalization is necessary," and encouraged, "Let us foster Kyungbok University’s development through consideration and internationalization that allow foreigners to have a happy experience and increase satisfaction upon entering the university."

Finally, President Jeon emphasized, "The characteristics of a 100-year university are fivefold: tradition and history, academic rigor, strong networks, reputation and recognition, and excellent alumni," and stressed, "Let us move forward toward becoming a 100-year university with the unity and vigorous fighting spirit of all Kyungbok University members."
