Watch Sports Highlights Quickly with AI... SKT-Naver Collaboration
MOU on AI Media Technology with AfreecaTV and Others
Aiming to Provide Customized Sports Services in the AI Era
SK Telecom, Naver, and AfreecaTV have joined forces to provide sports-tailored services using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
On the 4th, SKT announced that it signed an MOU with Naver and AfreecaTV to jointly utilize AI media technology. The agreement aims to provide sports-tailored services suitable for the AI era by jointly leveraging the AI media technologies each company possesses.
First, they plan to jointly use AI highlights that automatically extract and provide desired video clips by analyzing viewers' preferred teams and players through AI. This is expected to allow viewers to enjoy the moments they want without missing them.
In SKT's case, the service is expected to be available through its application 'A.Dot' TV. A.Dot currently broadcasts basketball, volleyball, baseball, and more in real time.
Additionally, AI will be utilized in business-to-business (B2B) services. Within broadcast coverage, AI will track advertisements to measure frequency and exposure time, automatically analyzing advertising cost settlements. A system that automatically recognizes broadcast ads and replaces them with targeted ads for viewers is also planned to be introduced.
This agreement plans to start from the 2024 baseball season and expand the service scope to golf, basketball, volleyball, and more.
