Gwangju Natural Science High School Donates to Community Chest of Korea
Students of Gwangju Natural Science High School donated funds to neighbors in need of care.
The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on the 2nd that a 'Donation Ceremony' was held at the school with the principal and students in attendance.
The donation of 1.6 million won consists of 500,000 won from the Kimchi Cooking Contest prize, 100,000 won from the Korean Beef Cooking Contest, 300,000 won from the Y-FARM RUN Festival prize, and 700,000 won from the Youth Bizcool Startup Club profits, and will be used to support neighbors in need of care.
Choi Beom-tae, principal of Natural Science High School, said, “I hope students feel a sense of self-efficacy through donating,” and added, “I hope they become role models in practicing sharing by seeing the world change through their own donations.”
