KB Insurance announced on the 2nd that President Koo Bon-wook has been appointed as the new CEO.
On the same day, CEO Koo delivered his inaugural speech at the KB Art Hall in the KB Insurance Building located in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He stated, "In a time where uncertainty and opportunity coexist, we will turn crises into opportunities and continue bold challenges and innovations." He announced the management goal of "challenging to be number one in company value growth rate" and presented three management strategy directions and three promises to employees to achieve this.
The first strategic direction is "Putting the customer first in all decision-making." CEO Koo said, "We need to provide the best products and services that customers need and rebuild work processes and systems from the customer's perspective," adding, "We must set a new standard for non-life insurance in Korea and expand KB Insurance's ecosystem wider and faster."
CEO Koo also emphasized "Strengthening core competitiveness in the main business." He explained, "To respond to segmented customer demands, comprehensive sales support through leading new products and underwriting systems in all areas is necessary," and added, "To respond to domestic and international uncertainties and secure new revenue sources, we must solidify the profit base through strategic asset allocation and enhanced risk management."
CEO Koo stated that the company must become a pioneer of 'Digital First.' He said, "As every aspect of customers' daily lives has become digitalized, it is necessary to provide new value that exceeds customer expectations," and emphasized, "We must digitalize not only technology and service adoption but also the entire business model and processes."
As three promises to employees, CEO Koo proposed communication and empathy beyond boundaries, a company where employees are happy, and providing equal opportunities with fair process management. He said, "I will be a leader who communicates openly with executives and staff, breathes together with them, and leads by example."
