Focused Investment in R&D for Food Tech and Green Bio... Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Announces 35.5 Billion KRW Project
The government has decided to focus its research and development capabilities on future growth potential convergence advanced technology development fields such as FoodTech and Green Bio to promote the digital transformation of agriculture.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 2nd that it will issue an integrated announcement of the 2024 agricultural and food R&D project implementation plan on the 3rd.
The projects announced this time include a total of 6 projects with a budget of 35.5 billion KRW: ▲ High value-added food technology development and commercialization support ▲ Smart Farm multi-ministry package innovation technology development as existing projects, and newly launched ▲ High-risk animal infectious disease response technology development (4.8 billion KRW) ▲ Establishment of agricultural life microbiome innovation technology base (1.5 billion KRW) ▲ Agricultural and food science and technology convergence research manpower training (4.5 billion KRW). Among these, the budget for new projects in 2024 is 10.8 billion KRW.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to provide information on the scale of support, application methods, required documents, and implementation schedules through this integrated announcement. Yoon Won-seup, Director of Agricultural and Food Innovation Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, said, "To promote the digital transformation of agriculture, we will focus investments on convergence advanced technology development fields with high future growth potential such as FoodTech and Green Bio. In particular, we will newly promote convergence talent training projects to respond to changes in manpower demand and technology trends in the agricultural and food industry field, and technology development projects to prevent the spread of animal infectious diseases such as Lumpy Skin disease introduced from overseas."
