Inauguration of Kwon Oh-seong as the 28th Chief Superintendent of Mokpo Maritime Police Station
"I will do my best to protect public safety and maritime sovereignty in the vast West Sea area"
Gwon Oh-seong, Superintendent General, was inaugurated as the 28th Chief of the Mokpo Maritime Police Station in Jeollanam-do on the 29th.
According to Mokpo Maritime Police on the 30th, Chief Gwon held a simple inauguration ceremony in the police station auditorium that afternoon, visited the comprehensive situation room to inspect the maritime security situation under his jurisdiction, and then began his official duties.

Chief Gwon stated, “I will prioritize the safety of the people and do my best to protect maritime sovereignty in the West Sea and ensure maritime safety,” adding, “Let us concentrate all our capabilities to establish a comprehensive maritime safety network and devote ourselves to preventing maritime accidents.”
He also urged, “As public officials, please clearly recognize your mission and duties and faithfully fulfill the basics as maritime police officers in your respective positions such as offices, vessels, and police substations.”
The newly appointed Mokpo Maritime Police Chief Gwon Oh-seong graduated from Daegu Yeongsin High School and Korea Maritime University. He joined the maritime police in 1999 as a police officer candidate (47th class) and has held key positions including Chief of the East Sea Maritime Police Station, Director of the Central Maritime Special Rescue Unit at the Korea Coast Guard Headquarters, Director of Planning and Operations at the East Sea Regional Headquarters, Director of Safety and Rescue at the Southern Regional Headquarters, and Director of Planning and Operations at the Jeju Regional Headquarters.
