Jindo-gun Receives 'A Grade' in Local Price Stability Management Performance Evaluation
Secured Special Grant of 150 Million KRW
Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do received the highest grade, Grade A, in the 2023 second half local price stabilization management performance evaluation.
According to the county on the 29th, the 2023 second half local price stabilization management performance evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety was carried out from May to October targeting 243 local governments nationwide to stabilize the people’s economy.
As a result of great efforts to stabilize prices in the era of high inflation, Jindo-gun received Grade A, corresponding to the top 10%, securing a special grant of 150 million won.
The county froze public utility fees such as garbage bag fees (20ℓ 260 won), water supply fees (household 20㎥, 8,230 won), and sewage fees (household 20㎥, 4,380 won), and reduced public utility fees including city bus and taxi fares by 1.494 billion won.
In addition, it supported 96 million won to Good Price Stores and conducted price stabilization campaigns through local festivals, making great efforts to stabilize local prices.
In particular, through the designation and management of 13 Good Price Stores, last month, during the Good Price Store inspection (monitoring) conducted by Jeollanam-do, 5 stores received S grade and 8 stores received A grade, earning a performance bonus (incentive) of 25 million won.
A county official said, “In 2024, we plan to establish a local price stabilization management plan and promote freezing and reduction of public utility fees through continuous communication with related organizations. We will also do our best to stabilize local prices by expanding the designation of Good Price Stores.”
