Jeongeup-si Allocates 34.486 Billion KRW Budget for Disabled Welfare Projects Next Year
Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 28th that next year's welfare budget for the disabled has been set at approximately 34.486 billion KRW, an increase of 3.6 billion KRW from this year's budget of about 30.87 billion KRW.
This is interpreted as the city's commitment to enhancing stability in daily life through expanded support for disability-related infrastructure and promoting more comprehensive welfare for the disabled.
Jeongeup City held the "Disability Welfare Committee Regular Meeting" on the 26th to provide better welfare services with the increased budget for disability welfare projects next year.

Accordingly, the city will spend 24.5 million KRW to install seven rapid chargers for electric mobility aids (six at public institutions and one at a public facility).
Additionally, with a budget of 86.4 million KRW, developmental rehabilitation services will be provided to 80 disabled children under the age of seven who have not received treatment support services, and 120 million KRW will be allocated to support transportation costs for 200 patients with severe kidney disabilities undergoing hemodialysis.
Furthermore, integrated care services (247 million KRW) will be provided to individuals with severe developmental disabilities exhibiting challenging behaviors (self-harm or harm to others), establishing welfare policies that correspond to the diverse needs of the disabled.
Moreover, 420 million KRW will be invested in strengthening the functions of welfare facilities and organizations for the disabled.
In this regard, the city held the ‘Disability Welfare Committee Regular Meeting’ on the 26th to provide better welfare services with the increased budget for next year's disability welfare projects.
The meeting included reports and evaluations of the city's 2023 disability welfare projects, reports on new projects for 2024, and discussions on promoting disability welfare.
Mayor Lee Hak-su (Chairman of the Disability Welfare Committee) stated, “We will continue to pay attention to the daily lives and mobility convenience of disabled people, address shortcomings, and create a Jeongeup City where there are no inconveniences in daily life.”
