Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Urges Safe Use of Three Major Heating Appliances in Winter
The Gwangsan Fire Station in Gwangju Metropolitan City urged the safe use of heating appliances during the winter season.
On the 20th, the Gwangsan Fire Station stated, "The three most commonly used heating appliances in winter?electric mats, electric heaters, and electric heating wires?can cause fires even with very minor negligence," and emphasized, "Since this can lead to loss of life and property damage, safety rules must be followed when using them."
They further explained, "To prevent fires caused by heating appliances, it is important to use products certified with the safety certification (KC) mark, avoid folding electric mats when storing them, keep flammable materials away from electric heaters and ensure sufficient space around them, and always turn off the power and unplug the devices when not in use or when going out."
