Democratic Party Strongly Criticizes Bang Moon-gyu's Nomination for General Election: "Yoon, Where Are You Taking the Country?"
"Expo Failure... Minister Bang Moon-kyu Should Be Dismissed"
The Democratic Party of Korea criticized the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's cabinet reshuffle, saying it is "devoting all government momentum to lining up the ruling party, drafting the cabinet, and turning it into a pro-Yoon factional party."
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the 18th, "Following the reshuffle of six ministries for the general election earlier this month, additional replacements of ministers from other ministries who will run in the election are said to be carried out this week. Resignations of vice-minister level officials who wish to run in the general election are also planned," and questioned, "With the cabinet's mind so focused on the election, how can inflation be controlled and household debt resolved?"

What on earth is this?" Jeong added, "It feels like the personnel hearing was just yesterday, but we have to hold another one," and pointed out, "How can a minister with a short-term three-month appointment perform well in the general election? This is truly a shocking and pathetic administration."
Hong Ik-pyo, floor leader of the Democratic Party, also said, "The Expo was a failure, and we experienced a devastating fall in national prestige. Minister Moon Sung-kyu of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy should be dismissed," and criticized, "Where else is there a government that paves a flower path for ministers to run in the general election?"
Former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won criticized the personnel fiasco. Through Facebook, Park raised his voice, saying, "Where is the president taking the country? This is too much." Park said, "The Jamboree failure, the female minister of gender equality and family who remains in office after the failure of her successor appointment?what will happen to her? The three-month minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is drafted for the general election, the 'acquainted elder brother' chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission was replaced as the chairman of the Korea Communications Commission after five months, and the person reported to be the next National Intelligence Service director has served as ambassador to the U.S., National Security Office chief, and NIS director within a year and a half of the administration... If appointed, it would be a situation of 'packing up and closing shop.'"

He continued, "The personnel appointments are a disaster," and said, "Although you say you do not interfere in party affairs, you appoint your avatar successor, the 'acquainted younger brother' as Minister of Justice and the ruling party's emergency committee chairman? This is not the role of the government and ruling party."
