Move-in Starts from January Next Year
LH announced on the 11th that it has completed 605 units in the integrated public rental housing pilot complex at Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town S-10 Block, which combines various types of rental housing, as of the 10th. Move-in will begin in January next year.

View original imageIntegrated public rental housing is a type of housing that consolidates various existing public rental housing types such as permanent, national, and happiness housing into one category, expanding eligibility to supply complexes where diverse social groups can live together.
The target has been expanded to middle-income households without homes earning up to 150% of the median income. The available unit sizes vary depending on the number of household members, and rent differs for the same unit size based on income levels.
LH did not apply the LH mark on the side walls of this integrated public rental housing, and the complex name makes it difficult to distinguish between sale and rental housing.
To eliminate discriminatory views toward rental housing, the exterior design was significantly upgraded. The gatehouse design was elevated to the level of sale complexes, and the exterior presents a ‘stairwell look’ that makes it impossible to distinguish corridor-type and stairwell-type buildings from the outside.
For the exterior wall painting of the main buildings, paint with excellent color retention was used instead of the conventional water-based paint. An art wall was applied at the first-floor entrance, and high-end finishing materials such as system awnings were installed in auxiliary facilities.
Additionally, the Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town S-10 Block is the first to install an inter-floor noise prevention system. Vibration sensors are installed on the lower part of the interior walls of each unit, and when inter-floor noise occurs, a ‘caution’ alarm appears on the wall pad.
This pilot system encourages residents to check noise generated within their units themselves to improve living habits and prevent disputes between neighbors caused by inter-floor noise.
Furthermore, starting from the first half of next year, a living SOC complex facility accessible to local residents will be established in Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town S-10 Block.
Spanning 2,092㎡, it will include cultural spaces for performances such as dance and theater, childcare facilities, a barista zone, and various spaces that both residents and local community members can use together. The facility will be operated by Gwacheon City.
Meanwhile, LH plans to significantly enhance the exterior and landscaping standards of rental housing complexes to the level of sale housing and diversify unit sizes to meet public expectations for future completed rental housing complexes.
From focusing mainly on small units for 1-2 person households, the composition will expand to various sizes including medium-sized units with a net area of 84㎡, and the minimum unit size standard for single-person households will be increased by up to 1.5 times.

Oh Joo-heon, Head of LH Public Housing Business Headquarters, said, “With the completion of this pilot complex as a milestone, we will improve the appearance of rental housing complexes to be comparable to sale complexes and actively promote the expansion of unit sizes so that residents can enjoy a more comfortable living environment in the newly transformed public rental housing.”
