Busan Gijang-gun, Tourism YouTube Channel ‘Gijang Carmen’ Wins Web Award Korea Grand Prize
Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) announced on the 8th that its official tourism promotion YouTube channel, ‘Gijang Carmen,’ won the Grand Prize at the 2023 Web Award Korea.
Web Award Korea is an event hosted by the Korea Internet Professionals Association and organized by the i-Awards Committee. It is the most prestigious web evaluation awards ceremony in Korea, where a panel of 4,000 internet experts selects and awards the most innovative and excellent websites based on currently operating wired and wireless web platforms.
At this awards ceremony, ‘Gijang Carmen’ was recognized for contributing to enhancing the Gijang-gun brand by adding fun elements to various information based on outstanding storytelling, and received the Grand Prize in the Public Promotion category.
A Gijang-gun official stated, “Through the tourism YouTube channel ‘Gijang Carmen,’ we will continuously upload various local tourism resources to revitalize regional tourism, and especially showcase killer content that captures the charm of Gijang-gun to attract nationwide attention.”
The channel name ‘Gijang Carmen’ carries a double meaning: ‘Gijang Carmen (hamyeon) ? everything including taste, style, and scenery is here’ and ‘Come on to Gijang.’

Gijang-gun is producing a travel YouTube channel, Gijang Carmen, together with a famous influencer, Patricia.

In particular, the ‘Today’s Gijang’ episode featuring the nation’s younger sister Patricia has attracted attention as a channel for regional tourism revitalization, surpassing a total of 1.11 million views.
